OptometryIQ
A cut-paper night street where one lit optometry practice is still working at 9pm
FOR INDEPENDENT OPTOMETRY

You became a doctor.
Nobody warned you about the second job.

The accountant. The inventory manager. The insurance decoder. The last one out of the building. OptometryIQ exists to take that second job off your back.

MEET OPTICIANIQ

The quote is right. In 30 seconds. Every single time.

OpticianIQ reads the VSP authorization and hands your optician a verified quote — validated against 200+ real claims. No hand math. No pickup-counter surprises.

A cut-paper frame board with the best-selling frames glowing and the dead stock sitting flat
MEET FRAMEIQ

Your board is full of frames that will never sell.

$30–60K of them, at most practices. FrameIQ scores every frame, flags the dead stock, and tells you exactly what to keep, cut, and reorder — before the next rep visit.

WHAT WE'RE BUILDING NEXT

The partner who does the homework.

Reads every number. Watches every process. Brings you the two decisions a week that actually matter — and does the busywork itself. You stay the CEO.

THE WHOLE POINT

Built by an OD who needed to get home.

The lights click off at six. The thinking is already done. That is the entire product.

OptometryIQ

What we do today.

Two tools, both live in real practices — including ours.

OpticianIQ

Turns a VSP authorization into the patient's exact out-of-pocket in seconds — then helps your optician close the sale.

  • 30 sec to a verified quote
  • 200+ real VSP claims validated
  • $500+ a month in quoting errors, gone

Honest limits: VSP-focused. If VSP isn't a meaningful part of your book, we're not your tool yet.

FrameIQ

Reads your sales and inventory data, grades your frame board, and tells you what to keep, cut, and reorder.

  • $30–60K typically trapped in dead stock
  • A/B/C score for every frame
  • Rep-meeting prep sheets, auto-generated

Honest limits: works from your EHR's CSV exports. If your EHR can't export, we can't read it.

They advise. We do the work.

Every consultant in optometry will happily sell you a report. You don't need another report. You need the reading done, the thinking done, and a short list of what to do next — so you can hand it to your team, or do it yourself, and move on. That's what we build. Software that does the homework, not software that assigns it.

PHI-free by architecture

We never store patient data. Not encrypted, not anonymized — never stored. That's the architecture, not a promise.

Human in the loop

Every number is reviewable before it touches a patient or a purchase order. You're always in control.

Tested on ourselves first

Everything ships to our own two practices before it ships to yours.

Who this is really for.

Optometry school produces excellent clinicians and almost no business training. New grads leave with six figures of debt and take the corporate job — not because they want to, but because ownership feels unknowable. We think that's fixable. Everything we build is meant to make owning a practice feel possible: the reading done for you, the thinking done with you, the fear taken out of the room. The next generation deserves to inherit independent practice, not watch it disappear.

Built by an OD who needed to get home.

I made partner at Grant Optometric Group in 2019, then bought SALT Optometry in 2022 — and spent the next few years buried in the parts of the job nobody teaches in school: inventory spreadsheets, quoting mistakes, billing errors we wouldn't catch for weeks.

When my daughter Sloan was born in 2025, something had to give. I didn't need more staff. I needed the thinking done before it reached my desk. FrameIQ came first, reading our sales data to tell us what to reorder and what to cut. Then OpticianIQ, after I got tired of watching VSP quoting errors bleed hundreds of dollars a month with no software that got the math right.

Those tools became OptometryIQ — a doctor, an optician, and an engineer, building for our own practices first. Now we're building for yours.
